On Saturday, 27May 2006, the Skene Memorial Library, inconjunction with the Greater Fleischmanns Museum of Memories, hosted an expanded book and plant sale. For the first time, outside verdors were invited to participate. There were woodworking items, antiques postcards, general antiques, chairs (includinga caning demonstration) and local maple syrup products.
The collection of items for sale by the Skene was supplemented by the generous donation of ten birdhouses, made as a community service project by Tiger Cub Scout Troop 33. These proved VERY popular and just flew off the sidewalk. The large number of donated books sold also added to the benefits raised as a result to aid the Library. |
